An overhead page will announce the final salute giving the staff an opportunity to line up at the Main Entrance as the patient leaves the facility. Prior to the patient being taken to the funeral home, the gurney will be covered with an American flag. Veterans who pass away at Baptist Health Floyd will receive a final salute. Upon admission, each veteran will receive a doorframe magnet to be placed outside of their room. As part of the program, each veteran will be given a Stars and Stripes wrist band anytime they come in for a test, procedure or to be admitted.
